Four days where you can design with selected flowers from the Netherlands, collect wild varieties, learn new techniques and styles, and get inspired by the countryside of Extremadura, Spain.

Who can attend?

This floral retreat is open to flower lovers, design students, and professional floral designers. The Madrid Flower School team will teach with an emphasis on creativity and masterful designs.

No previous experience is necessary!

Participants will have the opportunity to design with Sylvia Bustamante Gubbins, director of Madrid Flower School, and Teresa Vicente-Franqueira, floral designer for weddings and events. They will talk about creativity, new trends, and the floral industry. 

What is included?

The experience includes three days and three nights with lodging, meals, selected flowers, all the necessary materials, and a toolbox. The breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and dinners are chosen from world-renowned Spanish recipes. 

Transportation is not included. Students can opt to take a bus from Madrid Flower School to their destination. Please write to hola@madridflowerschool.com for more information.

Activities Schedule 

Day 1: Entrance between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm
Day 2 & 3: Classes from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
Day 4: Classes from  9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Farewell 5:00 pm

Sleep in Paradise

Rooms will be assigned on a STRICT first-come, first-served basis:

1 room with double bed with bathroom

1 double bedroom with a shared bathroom

2 twin bedded rooms with a shared bathroom

1 private apartment with kitchenette and bathroom for 2 persons (supplement of 180€ per person)

What is Dehesa Paraíso?

A slow life refuge inspired by the Mediterranean house in the middle of a valley covered with holm oaks, which is where it gets its name. The spaciousness and light are the highlights of the place, inviting you to relax and admire nature from inside and outside. 

It allows you to walk along a stream where wild boars wallow in the morning, eat under the shade of an oak in the afternoon, and, at night, admire the starry skies free from pollution.

The garden has exclusive endemic species and is designed at a pace that lowers anxiety levels with its smells, textures, and colors. The house, built just a year ago and made of noble materials, portrays the family history of Teresa Vicente-Franqueira and her husband, Eduardo. They have objects inherited and collected over the years, such as a fireplace rescued from a chateau in France.

How to get there? 

A bus will pick up the students from Madrid Flower School, Calle Canillas 34, Bajo A, Madrid 28002, and will take them to their destination. The return trip will also be by bus.
